Miami Childrens Theater

Welcome!

Miami Childrens Theater is extremely excited to start 2025. As many of you know, last year was a hectic year for our company with unforeseen changes in rehearsal and show venues. We survived (!) and MCT is happy to report that we have laid the foundation for a smooth 2025. MCT is indebted to our partners for working things out with us – the end result being is that we will hold rehearsals at Dance Empire and perform our shows at the Alper JCC. MCT believes our kids deserve the best and safest places to make friends and art with and Dance Empire and the J are wonderful places to do that.

The format of rehearsals at DE and shows at the Alper JCC greatly increases our overhead and we are asking our families to support our company as we post modest tuition increases. The cost of performing a show at Miami Childrens Theater over the past 20 years has vacillated from $375 to $500 with the average tuition being $425. Botton line, we have not raised our prices in over 20 years! The new show fee at Miami Childrens Theater in 2025 will now be $600.  Mainstage Junior will increase to $450 in the Fall of 2025. When you combine the number of hours your child will be with us for a show (300 + hours) and the fact that MCT is regarded one of the top young people’s theaters in the nation, $600 is a bargain. As always, we want to make Miami Childrens Theater as affordable as possible to our families. Each show will have an installment plan in which you can pay for the tuition in two installments of $300.  Miami Childrens Theater also offers financial scholarships for qualifying families. We encourage you to click the Audition  tab on our website to view our scholarships terms and conditions. The actual form is attached – it is fillable and for best results open it up on a pc.

If you are new to Miami Childrens Theater please know the following:

  • MCT has been around since 1996 with an impeccable record of artistic excellence and providing a safe space for your child.
  • MCT is led by Tim and Beth Fath, a couple who are, more than anything, loving parents of two theater kids. Tim and Beth approach MCT with that in mind – they understand the complicated jumble of school and rehearsals and show weekends. Tim is a 2019 Tony Award finalist in the category of “Excellence in Theater Education.”
  • From an artistic standpoint MCT is one of the nation’s most successful and prestigious childrens theaters. As of this writing 23 MCT alumni have performed on Broadway with hundreds more posting successful careers in regional theater, technical theater and theater education. More important than Broadway success is our record for producing good “citizens” – great kids who have succeeded in all walks of life but point to their time at MCT as a major reason for self-esteem and confidence building.
  • MCT has an incredible staff who are in it for the right reasons – they LOVE your kids and want them to succeed. As actors and human beings.

We can’t wait for a great year!
