Since 1996 Miami Childrens Theater has been a safe haven for your child to grow and learn. Our mission statement is to foster the love of theater to all children and in our 30 years of operation, MCT has never denied a child child access to its programs. Miami Childrens Theater ranks as one of the top youth theaters in the nation – sending an astonishingh 25 of its alumni to Broadway.

A NEW CHAPTER IS BEGINNING AT MCT

For the next few months, Miami Children’s Theater is taking a pause from regular classes and productions as we work behind the scenes to build The Next Act. We’re preparing new programs, opportunities, spaces, and partnerships — with our next production already part of the plan. This transition will happen in two stages: 1) the announcement of a temporary space to house our Mainstage Jr. classes and Hairspray rehearsals. And 2) the announcement of our new permanent home

SOME OF OUR NOTABLE ALUMNI

The past decade has seen Miami Childrens Theater become one of the top young persons’ theaters in the nation with 24 of its’ alumni rising to roles on Broadway. (including Ana Villafane (pictured) as Gloria Estefan in the hit Broadway musical On Your Feet. Actors trained at Miami Childrens Theater have been featured in hit Broadway shows such as Hamilton, Kinky Boots, Dear Evan Hansen, Tootsie, Cats, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods., The Outsiders and Water for Elephants, Two significant distinctions occurred in the years 2010-2020: MCT Director Tim Fath was honored with a Tony Award Nomination for Excellence in Theater Education and Miami Childrens Theater was voted Best Overall Theater and Best Childrens Theater in Broadway World’s Regional “Best of the Decade” voting.
