We know you all are chomping at the bit to know more about our summer camp plans. Some of you have even asked me “Are you even going to have summer camp?” The answer is an emphatic “Yes!” We are currently 2/3rds of the way to making official announcements and opening up registrations, but let us share with you what we know so far. Miami Childrens Theater is going to have an ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL Creative Camp located in Triangle Park in Brickell. It is totally accessible whether you are coming from Wynwood/ Gables/Grove and the Beach. The camp will have some differences as we are truly partnering with this facility. Those differences are the age group will 5 through 11, and Session B will only be three weeks. We cannot wait till you see this place! Session A will be June 10th through July 3. Session B will be July 8 through July 26th. Registration will open March 8th! On the Broadway Bound side, we also have a great location, very close to the J. I am happy to report that Broadway Bound will have regular hours this summer – we are thinking 10 to 4 or 12 to 6. Session A will be June 10th through July 3rd, and Session B will be July 8 through August 2nd. We are not 100% sure when we can start registering, but hang in there – the camp is happening! Last but least is our missing piece of the puzzle – a summer camp for our younger kids that live in Kendall and South. We are interviewing with no less than four places, and we promise our families in the South we will definitely have a place for your kiddos! So everyone, please hang in there- this whole ordeal has been hectic, but we look forward to an amazing summer!

UPDATE ON OUR FUTURE AT MCT

We just wanted to give our families an update regarding the move from the Alper JCC to a new location(s). In case you have not heard, Miami Childrens Theater’s last day at the Alper JCC will be April 30th. Many of you have asked about our future plans, most notably about plans for summer camp and the next few shows. Let us step back for a second and say that Miami Childrens Theater sees this transition as a wonderful opportunity to grow and make our company more expansive and successful than ever. Change is good – it motivates us to do things with a fresh set of eyes. Miami Childrens Theater has just experienced its’ two  most successful years ever  and we plan to build and expand on our priorities. Our goal is to strengthen our mission of being a safe and fun place for children 12 and under to attend, to provide educational shows for Miami-Dade students and to offer a training ground for our older kids that has produced no less than 17 alumni to Broadway debuts.

The answer to one of your most pressing questions is that we will most definitely have our award-winning Creative Camps and Broadway Bound summer camps in 2024. We are negotiating with several colleges/ theaters for our camp location. We cannot release details now, but we should be able to offer some good news in the next two weeks. Our goal is to start taking registrations for summer camp on March 1st. We promise that the facilities we are looking at are incredible – worth the wait!

That said, this move will roughly triple our immediate operating budget. Now more than ever, we will need the assistance of Miami Childrens Theater’s families. We will be making major announcements about our future in the weeks to come and the first step is to make sure we capture your contact information so we can keep you abreast of our changes. Please go to the Contact Us page  and fill out the contact form. There is a field (completely optional) to add a comment about “How You Can Help” with the move. We would love to hear from you.

Lastly, encourage your friends and relatives to add their names. People who have gone to a MCT  show and  loved what they saw. Miami Childrens Theater is going to roll out a major campaign that will ask for help but also incentivize people who contribute value-added offers.

Sincerely,

Tim and Beth Fath
